We are pleased to inform that our quarterly, the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin, has been indexed in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection Emerging Sources Citation Index Backfile database (ESCI Backfile) – an archive of the ESCI database where the SJ were included in the previous year. The "ESCI backfile" archive includes articles published in the years 2005-2014. The 3rd place of our journal in the ranking of “Top 25 ESCI Polish Journals by number documents" with the number of 727 documents can be considered a great success. Especially because SJ were presented during the November training run by Clarivate Analytics – the owner of the Web of ScienceTM platform. Besides the high and constantly improving publishing quality of the quarterly, we owe this success primarily to the appropriate data structure and mechanisms implemented in the Internet repository of the journal that was developed by the Maritime University of Szczecin in 2015.

It is worth mentioning that the ESCI Backfile, belonging to the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection, is an additional source of information that scientists can use to demonstrate their scientific achievements. It is noteworthy mainly for the candidates for the postdoctoral degree of doctor of science or the title of professor and their promotion procedure. According to Clarivate Analytics, ESCI Backfile (2005-2014) indexed 246 documents affiliating the Maritime University of Szczecin.
